Major Cool Off is wonderful ice cream shop in Kaisertown with a welcoming vibe and fun environment. It has been a family favorite destination for years with aesthetics in need of unity and refreshment. Amping up their look with a more modern feel balanced with retro design seemed to be the upgrade they deserved, and was what I chose to do for my Senior Project at Villa Maria College.
The new look is comprised of saturated and bright colors, crazy shapes, patterns and visual energy which are often found in the pop design style of 1980’s. The foundational color scheme is balanced with tints and shades of primary colors that were often used in this iconic era of design. The logo has been reimagined using a cursive, retro-styled font to help convey the “feel” of ice cream, while the colors further communicate the optimistic, lively and family-friendly atmosphere.
